Founder & Director
Pat Dowling
After initial teacher training at Westminster College, Oxford, where she became President of the College Music Society, Pat went on to gain a BA Hons. Degree in Music from the Open University. This was followed by a Music Diploma from Trinity College of Music, London. She has recently studied for the Cert. PTC with EPTA UK.
After leaving Oxford, Pat took up a post at Chew Valley School and developed her career as Head of Music both there, and later at Norton Hill School, Midsomer Norton. As an experienced music teacher and facilitator Pat has taught at all levels of school music education, headed residential music courses and directed numerous orchestras, windbands, choirs, smaller ensembles and stage shows. During these years Pat performed in the local area as part of a Clarinet Quartet and in numerous Cabaret performances in Bath. She was also a member of Bath Light Operatic Group and performed in the Theatre Royal, Bath.
Since leaving Norton Hill she has taught piano, accompanied choirs and been determined to provide musical opportunities for people to come together to sing and play!

Matthew Day
Matthew studied music from a young age and, throughout his schooling, learned to play, perform and direct. As a mature student he gained a BA Hons. Degree in Music from Bristol University. Here, he also performed with the University Choral Society.

From his early teenage years Matthew has been a DJ, entertaining youth to corporate groups in addition to family gatherings. His technical experience gained here has also been used as a musical director and sound engineer during many different stage musicals with various theatre groups. These technical skills are not limited to physical performances as his knowledge was used during the Covid-19 pandemic allowing others to continue to perform virtually.

His leadership in more traditional music has been used extensively as a director, of both sacred and secular choirs, for over 30 years. During this time he has also taught piano and music theory, played keys and percussion in the orchestra pit for musical theatre and accompanied weddings, funerals and church services on the piano and organ. He continues to accompany instrumentalists and choirs regularly.
